Fourth Annual Community Involvement Awards
On September 16 2008, SMITH BIGMAN BROCK presented its annual awards for outstanding Community Involvement. The award recipients were peer nominated for the volunteer work that they have participated in during the past year, above and beyond those events sponsored directly by the firm.
Melissa Morgan
Melissa Morgan, Associate Attorney, received an award for her community volunteerism. She has taken an active role as co-chair of Barbara’s Basket Brigade, an annual food and toy drive for the less fortunate families in the Volusia County area. She also worked with Krewe Nouveau in efforts to raise funds in support of The House Next Door, an organization that has drug prevention and family counseling programs to serve children and promote healthy family and community relationships. She has also served a key role in coordinating group support and attendance at many of the charitable events sponsored by the firm throughout the year.
Sue Hensler
Sue Hensler, Secretary, received an award for her community volunteerism. For many years now, Sue has worked diligently to assist with the Margarita Ball, an annual event that provides thousands of Christmas gifts to needy kids. This year she also headed a group of employees in the collection of households goods, supplies, toys, etc, for a local family in need after losing their father to cancer last year.
