Community Involvement Awards 2005

First Annual Community Involvement Awards Ceremony Conducted at Fall Employee Meeting

On September 21, 2005, Smith, Stout, Bigman & Brock, P.A. presented our first annual Community Involvement Awards at the firm’s Fall employee meeting. Our Community Involvement Program has been designed to acknowledge and applaud the hard work and consistent efforts of employees who take their personal time and resources to make meaningful contributions to our local communities. These employees have been peer nominated for the volunteer work that they have done of their own accord, above and beyond those events sponsored directly by the firm.

Cathi Martin, Billing Clerk, received an award for her community volunteerism. She has consistently supported and assisted in fund raising activities on behalf of the American Cancer Society. She has consistently participated in and supported their Relay for Life fundraisers. Shannon Arenas, Administrative Coordinator, received an award for her community volunteerism. Ms. Arenas, a mother of two children who were born prematurely, plays a leadership role in supporting and fundraising efforts on behalf of the March of Dimes. Eduardo Morales, Administrative Assistant, received an award for his community volunteerism. Mr. Morales spends one day each week at local pet stores working with a group of volunteers on behalf of the Human Society to provide care for, and facilitate the adoption of, homeless animals. Tamara Wenzel, associate attorney, received an award for her tireless efforts on behalf of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services. She served as the association’s President from 2003 through 2005 and currently holds the position of Chairperson. This organization’s mission is to empower their clients to overcome barriers facing individuals experiencing deafness and hearing loss, and their families.
