Smith Bigman Brock Elects New Partners
Daytona Beach October 1, 2020 – Smith Bigman Brock, P.A., 444 Seabreeze Boulevard, Suite 900, is pleased to announce the election of two new partners, Sarah L. Metz and Frank S. Ganz effective January 1, 2020. Sarah and Frank have been with the firm since 2013 and 2015, respectively. Since that time, their years of service have made significant contributions to the firm and its clients. Together they manage the firm’s business and real property litigation practice group and focus on business, commercial and real property litigation, community association law, and pre-litigation matters.
Ms. Metz holds a Juris Doctorate from Florida State University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mississippi. Ms. Metz is an experienced advocate in the courtroom as well as an advisor to her clients in all aspects of business from practical day to day management to extraordinary circumstances that lead to litigation. Her work encompasses contract disputes between individuals and companies, joint venture issues, employer/employee disputes, discrimination claims and defenses, residential and commercial landlord/tenant issues, condominium and homeowner’s association matters, foreclosures, and more. She also serves as the issuer counsel for revenue bond financing and general counsel for the Housing Finance Authority of Volusia County. Ms. Metz is married to Public Defender-Elect, Matthew Metz, and they have two children, Lyons (4) and Charlotte (2). Mr. Ganz holds a Juris Doctorate from Quinnipiac University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Stetson University. Mr. Ganz is an experienced attorney in the practice of community association law and civil/commercial litigation. His work includes advising individuals and organizations on the operation of businesses and community associations and representing those clients in disputes that may arise related to contracts, corporations, employment, homeowners/condominium associations, insurance, real and personal property, and trusts. He serves on the board of directors for the Volusia County Bar Association and is a past president of the Young Lawyer’s Division. He is the president of the Rotary Club of Downtown Ormond Beach, and also serves on the Adjustment and Appeals and Neighborhood Improvement Advisory boards for the city of Ormond Beach. He also recently served on the Downtown Steering Committee which provided the recommendations to the City of Ormond Beach for the update to the master plan for the downtown area. See his full bio.
