Partner Named FDLA President-Elect 2011-2012
The members of the FDLA: Florida Defense Lawyers Association elected Jeffrey E. Bigman, Partner at Smith Bigman Brock, as President-Elect for 2011-2012. Mr. Bigman previously served as FDLA Secretary-Treasurer (2010-2011) and has served on the Board of Directors since 2007.
Mr. Bigman has been with the Smith Bigman Brock 1996. A graduate of Fordham University School of Law in 1983, Bigman gained his initial legal experience with the Wall Street Firm of Hawkins, Delafield & Wood where he was involved in commercial litigation for such clients as ABC and Stokely Van Camp. While still in New York, he moved on to an area of special interest in the field of medical malpractice, and sat as a Panelist on Medical Malpractice Mediation Panels, a then mandatory pre-trial process for malpractice actions. He has lectured extensively to doctors and risk management groups. In addition to his special focus on the medical field, Bigman represents clients in all aspects of insurance defense including automobile negligence, premises liability, products liability, insurance coverage disputes, and bad faith litigation. He is admitted to practice in the State and Federal Courts of New York and Florida, as well as to the United States Supreme Court. Bigman is Board Certified in the area of Civil Trial Law and has earned the designation of Florida Super Lawyer several years running.
