Award Winning Life Without Limits Ship – 2008 Rotary Gingerbread Magic Event

SMITH BIGMAN BROCK, in cooperation with United Cerebral Palsy of East Central Florida sponsored and participated in the second annual Gingerbread Magic fundraising event held by the Daytona Beach West Rotary Club. The Gingerbread Magic holiday event was launched as a Gingerbread Spectacular in 2007 by the Daytona Beach West Rotary Club in cooperation with the Volusia Mall to raise money for local charities. This year, Cathi Robinson, Billing Clerk, and Shelby Best, Paralegal, worked with UCP employees Dotti Bernhard, Carol Weeks, Kathy McCreery, Christina Morello, Les Bumb, and Tom Hill to create the Life Without Limits Cruise Ship.

Life Without Limits Cruise Ship

The SHP/UCPECF Life Without Limits Cruise Ship received the Judges’ first place award in November 2008. After more than 2,000 votes were cast by the public, the Life Without Limits Cruise Ship was also awarded the first place Peoples Choice Award. Dotti Bernhard of United Cerebral Palsy of East Central Florida designed the award winning ship with features such as an outside pool with shower, outdoor movie screen, rock-climbing wall, a second level with shops, Calypso lounge in the rear and an exotic island in the near distance. There’s even a tiny couple you can see jumping up and down on a stateroom bed through a small porthole on the aft side of the ship.

The ship continues to be on display at different locations throughout the area. It was initially moved from the Volusia Mall to United Cerebral Palsy of East Central Florida, then it was off to the SMITH BIGMAN BROCK offices in the Fifth Third Bank Building and is scheduled to be on display at the Halifax River yacht Club next. To arrange for the ship to be on display at a location near you, please contact Dotti Bernhard at 386-274-6474.
