Nina V. Rawal is an associate attorney in the commercial litigation practice group at Smith Hood Bigman. She has experience in the areas of commercial litigation, family law, employment law, business law, corporate transactions, estates and trusts. Before joining the firm, Ms. Rawal interned with Smith Hood Bigman during the summer of 2005 and again in 2009. Additionally, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Kim C. Hammond, Judge of the Circuit Court in the Civil Division, Seventh Judicial Circuit, Volusia County, Florida. Ms. Rawal speaks five different languages, including English. During the Summer of 2006 and 2007, she worked as an English teacher in Mumbai, India. Ms. Rawal joined Smith Hood Bigman in 2010. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida in 2007 with a Bachelor of Political Science, Minor in East Asian Languages and Literature, Chinese. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, she was inducted into the Florida Blue Key and served as the Historian of Florida Blue Key. She was the 2007 Recipient of the University of Florida Hall of Fame and University of Florida Leader Award recipient. Ms. Rawal served as the Chairwoman for the Reitz Union Board of Managers, Treasurer of Sigma Phi Omega, Senator of the Student Government, and English tutor World Languages and Cultures, Department of African and Asian Languages and Literature. Additionally, she was awarded the J. Wayne Reitz Scholarship for demonstrating academic excellence and outstanding leadership. In 2010, Ms. Rawal graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Law, earning her Juris Doctorate. During law school Ms. Rawal was the Senior Research Editor for the Journal of Juvenile Law and Policy and member, King Hall Negotiations Team, and Health Law Association.
